We are reviving baseball in the inner city; building bridges between the past, the present, and the future; promoting self-esteem, ethics and morals, and self-discipline to the youth, through organized sports and with community outreach services; instilling the concepts that children are our future, and it takes a village to raise a child. We help lay that path.
As a foundation we understand that our success will be the joint effort between us, our government and our surrounding community. The Leon Day Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
To promote self-awareness and lifelong learning for all ages through organized sports, resources, and educational programs; while preserving the legacies of Leon Day and the Negro League by giving recognition and exposure to a group of talented baseball players that were forgotten and never acknowledged.
